Cocaine & Crack Information

Slang: coke, snow, blow, powder, rock, lines

Short term effects: these drugs are central nervous system stimulants that increase levels of dopamine, inducing feelings of pleasure; causes restlessness, anxiety, paranoia

Long term effects: permanent changes to the brain that encourage addiction and tolerance; loss of the sense of smell

Basic facts: can be found in powder form (cocaine) or crystal form (crack)

Signs of use: red/bloodshot eyes; persistent runny nose; changes in eating, sleeping, friends, behavior; acting withdrawn, tired, or careless; losing interest in hobbies; frequent need for money
